A/Prof Stephen Shumack OAM
Associate Professor Stephen Shumack OAM is the principal of St George Dermatology, Kogarah. He is a general Dermatologist with a special interest in the diagnosis, treatment and research of Skin Cancer, Psoriasis, Eczema and Acne. He consults Wednesdays and Fridays each week and also has Saturday appointments once a month.
Dr Shumack is a clinical Associate Professor at Sydney Medical School (Northern) at Sydney University. He is also the Director of the Skin and Cancer Foundation, Australia, is a consultant Dermatologist at the Royal North Shore Hospital of Sydney, and is a principal of Central Sydney Dermatology, Sydney.
He is the immediate past President of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. He has previously been on the Boards of the Skin & Cancer Foundation Australia and Epiderm (Australian Dermatology Research and Education Foundation). He has also been a former Head of the Department of Dermatology at St George Hospital, Kogarah. He is a Fellow of the Australian institute of Company Directors.
He has published widely on the treatment and diagnosis of skin cancer and melanoma, and also teledermatology. He received the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2011 for services to Dermatology and the Community.
Dr Gilberto Moreno MBBS (AMC), FACD
Dr Moreno is a general dermatologist and Moh’s surgeon.
Dr Gilberto Moreno graduated from Rosario University, Columbia in 2003 before moving to Sydney. He obtained AMC recognition in 2006 while conducting a number of research projects in areas such as Psoriasis and Eczema. His medical experience was expanded and complemented by successfully completing Basic Physicians Training in 2011. During his Dermatology Training he spent one year in the UK focusing on systemic disease that affects the skin as well as multidisciplinary management of skin cancer. He has presented at local and international meetings, and has published a number of papers in peer reviewed journals for the past 12 years.
Dr Moreno consults Mondays.
Dr Adrian Lim MBBS, FACP, FACD
Dr Adrian Lim has an impressive background of international research and experience. Adrian is in high demand as one of Australia’s leading Dermatological experts. An experienced professional practitioner, he is a Fellow of both the Australian College of Dermatologists and the Australasian College of Phlebology and chairs the National Training Committee for both the Dermatology and Phlebology Colleges.
Dr Lim is a Visiting Dermatologist to the Royal North Shore Hospital and a Clinical Trials director at Central Sydney Dermatology, Macquarie Street. He has published research and given presentations both at home in Sydney, and further afield. Dr Lim is renowned for his easy manner, which many clients find appealing especially when dealing with issues they might find embarrassing, or hard to talk about.

Dr Esther Hong MBBS (Hons), MPhil, FACD
Dr Esther Hong is a highly regarded general Dermatologist with a special interest in skin cancer detection and treatment, psoriasis, eczema, acne, paediatric and vulval dermatology, as well as Cosmetic dermatology and axillary hyperhidrosis.
She has eleven years of experience working in clinical and research dermatology across New South Wales. This includes experience at Royal North Shore Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital Randwick, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Westmead Hospital and is a Visiting Dermatologist to the Royal North Shore Hospital.
Dr Hong is a graduate with honours of the Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney and holds a Masters Degree in dermatology research.
She has published widely in medical journals and presented at Australian and International dermatology conferences. She is a scholarship recipient for the 2011 World Congress of Dermatology in Seoul, South Korea, where she presented her research to an international group of dermatologists.
Dr Hong consults Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Dr Shivam Kapila MBBS BSc (Med) MS FACD
Dr Kapila is a general dermatologist, is the current Moh’s Surgical Fellow at The Skin Hospital and has extensive surgical experience.
Dr Kapila is a graduate from the Medical School of the University of New South Wales and completed his dermatology training with the Australasian College of Dermatologists working at Royal North Shore Hospital, Concord General and Repatriation Hospital, Liverpool Hospital and the Skin and Cancer Foundation. He has undertaken additional training in plastic surgery in skin cancer and melanoma at The Peter MacCullum Cancer Institute, has a Master of Surgery from the University of Sydney and has completed Part I General Surgery training with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Dr Kapila’s research interests include Lentigo Maligna, Confocal Microscopy and Mohs Micrographic Surgery in view to achieving margin control and skin sparing clearance of complex skin cancers.
Dr Kapila has special expertise in diagnosis and surgical management of melanoma and other skin cancers but engages an approach to dermatological disease with both a medical and surgical mindset in striving for best outcomes for his patients.
Dr Kapila’s areas of particular interest are Skin Cancer Management and Surgery, Mohs Surgery, Melanoma, Acne, Eczema and Psoriasis.
Dr Kapila currently consults Fridays. He will be consulting Tuesdays in 2019.
